Jeremiah Delaney
Written by James McInerney
Once upon a silent grave,
I met a man who knew my name,
He told a tale as old as time,
Made up with memories from my mind.
He played a tune that matched his words,
And with every note,
The pain got worse,
I couldn’t speak,
My voice was gone,
My words were stolen by his song.
He danced beneath the midnight dusk,
With eyes of black,
And teeth of rust,
My final breath he took from me,
I saw him smile,
I watched his glee.
I should have known,
Right from the start,
When you meet ‘Jeremiah delaney’,
Always be careful of your heart.
